What is a Parish Council?

Information about the parish council

Lurgashall Parish Council is an elected tier of local government representing the people living and working in the parish of Lurgashall. It is separate to the Parochial Church Council. The council consists of 9 elected members plus a clerk and we are here to represent the interests of the village of Lurgashall. We work to protect the local environment,we can influence higher levels of local government, deal with other corporate bodies and provide allotments and the play area within the parish. We do however have little direct decision making power.
